Check out a smorgasbord o' posters for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, opening Friday, March 23rd.
(Source: www.impawards.com) In honour of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opening tomorrow, the International Poster Awards website has rounded up a plethora of TMNT goodness, including two sets of character one-sheets, and a group shot from Thailand. And I gotta say, from what I've seen of the posters, this flick is looking good. I especially dig the one Thai poster: while Leonardo and the gang are getting ready to kick some monster butt, Michelangelo is more interested in his pizza. As someone who avoided the previous bulky-suits incarnation of the Ninja Turtles, I'm interested in seeing how TMNT plays out. Certainly, having names like Patrick Stewart (X-Men), Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and Lawrence Fishburne (Matrix: there is only one!) on the cast list is a good thing; we won't discuss Sarah Michelle Gellar. So far, critical reaction to TMNT has been mixed. Tim Goernert at Joblo gave the flick an 8/10 but TMNT has racked up a 20% Rotten rating over at Rotten Tomatoes. So far the fans seem to be more charitable towards it; if TMNT is going to succeed it's with moviegoers (and their kids), not critics. TMNT hits theatres on Friday, March 23rd. You can see all those posters in all their cowabunga glory by clicking here. And look for my review on these pages. Fun Fact: Mako (who voiced Master Splinter) died the day after it was announced he was cast in TMNT. Fortunately, he had done most of his voice-over work by that point.
