Here's yet another Simpsons Movie trailer from Twentieth Century Fox to tide you over until the first family of Springfield invades movie theatres, July 27th.

Yahoo managed to score an exclusive look at the latest The Simpsons Movie trailer, which they say will be the last one before Homer, Marge and the gang hit theatres on June 27th.
Given how many trailers Twentieth Century Fox and Matt Groening have put together for this flick, I wouldn't be surprised if another shows up: the Summer of 2007 is looking to become a viciously competitive movie environment as virtually every studio is bringing out at least two flicks that it hopes will become major blockbusters (over half of them sequels to previous blockbusters). That means The Simpsons Movie needs to keep its profile up if it wants to hold its own next to Disney/Pixar's Ratatouille, plus the live-action Transformers and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
For those of you keeping score, the first trailer for The Simpsons Movie showed Homer getting caught between a fork and a hard place, the second featured a cute little CGI bunny being flattened by Moe Szyslak (Hank Azaria) and the movie logo, and the third introduced us to a whole mess of cameos, plus Bart Simpson's french fry.
So what does this latest trailer bring? Well, there is still a whole mess of funny going on here: if the movie is any bit as good as the trailers promise then there should be a good time at the movies for all who check out this film. I'm hoping that the recent downturn in script quality in The Simpsons (the TV show) was because all the best scribblers were involved in making this flick as good as it can be.
Sharp-eyed viewers of the trailer can catch a glimpse (actually, a couple of glimpses) of Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool, and Mike Dirnt of Green Day in their animated form. IMDb promises that Minnie Driver, Albert Brooks, Kelsey Grammer (Sideshow Bob!), Joe Mantegna (Fat Tony), and civil rights crusader Erin Brockovich-Ellis will also voice roles (or just be themselves in the flick. Will The Simpsons Movie sink or swim in this ultra-competitive Summer of 2007? Find out when it opens June 27th.
Fun Fact: No less than eleven screenwriters, James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Al Jean, Ian Maxtone-Graham, George Meyer, David Mirkin, Mike Reiss, Mike Scully, Matt Selman, Joh Swartzwelder and Jon Vitti, have writing credits on The Simpsons Movie. Usually this would be a major warning sign telling viewers to stay away from this this flick, but I'm hoping this in not in fact the case.
