The buzz is building for Andrew Stanton's WALL-E, with several observers calling it Pixar's best. Film comes out June 27th.

The reviews are starting to trickle in for Disney/Pixar's WALL-E, and writers are already reaching for their thesaurii and pulling out the superlatives.

How so? Well, no less a figure than Ain't It Cool News' Harry Knowles, along with his horde of film geeks, have weighed in on the flick and he's going nuts for it.

WALL-E: Best film Disney's ever made?

While most reviewers have said things like "Pixar has done it again" Knowles goes even farther with his review, claiming that WALL-E is "arguably the best film Walt Disney has ever (put) its name on" and "it is one of the absolute best hard science fiction films made in my adult life."

Knowles' cohorts are also coming to praise this film, not bury it.

"Masterpiece. That's it. That's truth in one word," writes Nordling. "WALL-E is a masterpiece. It tells its story with economy, with little dialogue, but there is no question what is going on. It's like a Buster Keaton silent film mixed with the wonder of the original Star Wars and the morals of the best fables, except this moral is an imperative one, and one to which we must pay attention."

"I teared up three times during the movie," admits fellow AICNer The Abstruse One. "Twice was due to the story, but one time was just from how amazingly unbelievably gorgeous the film is."

"Thanks to Pixar, I have no choice but to go into wild, unrestrained hyperbole," adds John Gholson. "Ready? Here we go.

"Visionary. Emotional. Fantastic. A Must-See. A Thrill Ride. Romantic. Eye-Popping. Incredible. Instant Classic. The best Pixar film ever made. Let that sink in for a minute.

"The best. THE. BEST."

Seriously high praise already, but there's more. After all that hyperbole, Knowles chimes in with ". . . after the last frame in the gate ran through . . . the audience thunderously applauded again - and in a daze, I turned around to see 220 people in their seats - stunned. Dazed. Goofy grins, slack jaws and utterly flabbergasted - because nothing they saw in trailers, nothing from the posters and all the "cute" bits with WALL-E prepared them for just how awe-inspiring and brilliant the film that had just played . . . played."

That's heady stuff, and not simply because of Knowles' questionable grammar and writing style.

Where's Suite 101's review?

It needs to be restated that all reviews about this flick are under a Disney-requested embargo until the date of WALL-E's release. So, while Animation Boy™ has also seen the movie, he's not allowed to talk about it until the day it opens. Even though there's a reason why he's not disagreeing with the quotes above.

Actually, there is one way to describe this film that won't violate the Mouse House's embargo: after seeing a press screening of WALL-E on Thursday, June 5th, fellow Suite 101 writer Dominic Messier was left absolutely speechless. And that, jadies and lentlemen, is high praise indeed.

WALL-E hits theatres on June 27th. Look for a full review in this space on that day.
