If you hadn't learned by now, there's been a serious a buzz building for Disney/Pixar's next film, WALL-E, with many critics shortlisting it as one of *the* movies to watch in 2008.
Toy Story Stars In WALL-E Superbowl Trailer
For those people who weren't plopped in front of the idiot box watching the Superbowl this past Sunday, the good folks at Pixar unleashed one heck of a trailer during the spectacle. This spot pulled double duty for the boys at Emeryville, as it featured Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story talking about WALL-E while watching the big game.
"I hear he even goes to infinity," teases Woody (Tom Hanks) as he grabs a kernel from the massive bowl of popcorn next to him.
"But not beyond," counters Buzz (Tim Allen) from the other side of the bowl. A nice way to add some star power to this trailer, while gently reminding folks that the Lee Unkrich-directed Toy Story 3 is coming to theatres in 2010.
Meanwhile, the titular robot romances a vacuum cleaner, a relationship that rapidly goes south when said vacuum cleaner sucks up WALL-E's beloved cockroach. The good folks at Pixar mastered the art of Buster Keaton-esque comedy long ago, and they apply those lessons to this short. Very, very cute.

Disney WALL-E Site Gets Upgrade
Disney has also given the WALL-E website a bit of a facelift, setting everything up for the big push that'll hopefully come before the flick hits theatres June 27th. There's some content: a nice intro animation, some trailers, some wallpapers, a couple of images in the gallery, plus the official synopsis. The "Build-a-Bot" and "Games" sections are still under construction.
However, the site has no information about two actors who have been recently cast for the flick: Kim Kopf, who is voicing the role of Hoverchair Mother, and Garrett Palmer as Hoverchair Son. From the names, they're not big roles, but it's nice to know who else will be appearing in this thing.
Speaking of which, another recent member of the voice cast is Ben Burtt. Burtt is best known as the sound designer for all the Star Wars movies, plus the Indiana Jones flicks. This is another indication that Pixar is starting to attract some serious firepower in Hollywood, and most of it is going behind the scenes.
Fun Fact: Why the **** hasn't Disney linked to the hilarious BuyNLarge website that's been running for several months now? That site is genius!
